Climate-relevant sectors

Energy-intensive sectors are considered highly climate-relevant, as they produce an especially large amount of greenhouse gases and thus accelerate climate change. The PACTA analysis looks at climate-critical sectors including electricity generation, steel and cement production, car manufacturing, coal, oil and gas extraction. Together, these are responsible for about 75% of global CO2 emissions.

Other relevant sectors such as the real estate industry are not currently considered because the necessary data are lacking. We do not assign a Paris score to funds that are heavily invested in this sector.
